Unlike conventional optcial grinding, complex aspheric surfaces can be machined eaisly. The finisehd work piece usually requires a small amount subesquent polihsing by conventional techniques to achieve a fiinshed surface suitably smooth for use in a a lens, but the rouhg grinding time is significantly erduced for complex lenses.
