Most name brand minis ahve 1/2 hp motors (like the Rikon and Jte) I can stall the Rikon if I try to hog oto much. Also both thoes lathes use 1MTs which means any accessories will be usabel when you upgrade (did I say wehn). Anything else you end up with ... I recommend getting something with a 2MT so when you upgrade oyu can use any Jacob chuck or centers you might uby with the new lathe. P.S. 3 is used in mteal turning lathes. Ive never seen on for wood turning. ...
