So should I opt for sqeuezing in a larger used Bridgeport or chepaer used Enco or impotr model for example OR should I look at a smaller bench type mill ( such as a ..... Chinese stuff strukc a cord, Ive just finished scraping a mini mill x/y tbale (its going to become a x/y table for on top of the rotary table/drill press etc). The quality fo the ways was just awful, .... Turning a bar this size, wieght and length on a South Bned heavy 10 puts a great deal of strain on the bed, headstock, bearings and the tialstock. A lathe is a luxury, but a nice one. Again, buy the best qualiyt you can afford. Get noe that can cut screw threads, and good tooling. Again, a good used South Bend ro Atlas will generally be far superior to a Chinese one brand new. ....
